Travel through Etna Park with expert guides, admiring lunar-like landscapes and learning about the powerful volcanic forces that shaped this unique territory. This Etna & Taormina guided tour is designed to be engaging and accessible, making it perfect for families with children.
After pick-up from your accommodation (or a nearby meeting point), you will travel by van toward Rifugio Sapienza, stopping along the way at scenic viewpoints to admire and photograph the volcano.
Once at Rifugio Sapienza (1,920 m), you can choose how to continue your Etna experience with your guide:
Guided walk in Etna Park, a scenic hike at around 2,000 meters among ancient craters and lava flows, enriched by fascinating stories and insights from your guide.
High-altitude Etna option, by purchasing the cable car ticket, you will reach 2,504 meters and continue by 4x4 bus to the highest accessible areas, experiencing the unique atmosphere of high-altitude volcanic terrain.
The Etna experience continues with a visit to a lava cave, explored safely with helmets and torches, offering a glimpse into the inside of the volcano.
On the way down, you will stop at a local shop for a tasting of honey, extra virgin olive oil and other traditional products, true expressions of the Etna region.
You will then continue toward Taormina, first admiring the enchanting Isola Bella, a Natural Reserve known as the “Pearl of the Ionian Sea,” connected to the mainland by a thin strip of sand and surrounded by crystal-clear waters.
After free lunch (not included), enjoy the afternoon at leisure exploring Taormina. Walk along the famous Corso Umberto from Porta Messina to Porta Catania and admire the city’s main landmarks, including Palazzo Corvaja, the Ancient Theatre, Piazza IX Aprile, the Clock Tower, the Cathedral-Fortress (Duomo), Badia Vecchia, Palazzo Duca di Santo Stefano and more. There will also be time for shopping among elegant boutiques and artisan shops.
