Detailed description

The route, of easy difficulty, develops in the southern part of Etna territory starting at an altitude of about 1700 m, at the Hotel Villa Dorata in Contrada Serra la Nave, Ragalna CT (GPS: 37.68867475984792, 14.976435899734497) and has an average height difference of 100 m. During the journey you will be enrap- tured by typical Etnei scenarios, including recent lava flows and lush coniferous and deciduous woods. Typi- cal Etna shelters among which one with a vertical lava flow cave, used in the past as a icehouse, will com- plete this trekking experience on the highest active volcano in Europe. During the winter period in case of snow the trail will be carried out with snowshoes.

Development around 5 km. Difference in height uphill 107 m.
