Etna trekking to 3000 m - with Transfer

An unmissable experience for those who wish to experience up close the power and beauty of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe!

Transfer from Catania, from your accommodation (or in the immediate vicinity)

Meeting with the volcanological guide at 9:00 AM at Etna South, 1,900 m above sea level.

After a short briefing, you will take the cable car up to 2,500 metres in altitude.

From here, your ascent will begin, discovering the crater formed during the 2002/2003 eruption, immersed in an almost lunar landscape of extraordinary beauty.

You will continue towards the base of the Barbagallo Craters (approximately 2,800 m), an exceptional panoramic viewpoint from which you can admire Taormina, Syracuse and the Summit Craters, often characterised by a constant release of gas and water vapour.

The trek continues towards the most recent lava flows, reaching an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres, in the area of the famous “Torre del Filosofo”, where a break for a snack is planned.

Descent on foot to 2,500 metres and return by cable car to the initial meeting point.

Transfer back to Catania

Trekking up to 3,000 m

Ascent: approximately 2 hours

Descent: approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes

DIFFICULTY: Medium. Ability to walk on uneven terrain and, in some sections, uphill.

NOT RECOMMENDED for people who suffer from vertigo, those who lead a predominantly sedentary lifestyle, and children under 10 years of age.

NOT PERMITTED for anyone suffering from cardiovascular problems (or other serious medical conditions).

The pick-up point may not be located exactly at the address provided at the time of booking, but in its immediate vicinity, depending on operational and traffic requirements. The final details regarding the pick-up location and time will be reconfirmed on the evening before the service. Recommended equipment

• Comfortable clothes (suitable to the season). At high altitudes the temperature can be even 10-20° cooler than the city.
