The tour will start from Catania Centrale station.
After getting off the train (approximately 1 hour traveling to reach Syracuse), on foot you will reach the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, among the most important sites of the Mediterranean area. Here you can visit the Church of San Nicolò ai Cordari, the Pool and the Roman Amphitheatre, the Galermi aqueduct, the Triumphal Arch of Augustus, the Altar of Hiero II and the Greek Theatre, where every year to relive the splendors of the past, the classical tragedies are staged. Inside the park, you can also admire the caves dug inside the rock: the Cave of Cordai, the Ear of Dionysus and the Cave of Salnitro.
After that you will walk to Ortigia island, the oldest part of Syracuse for the lunch break at the local market (not included in the price).
Downtown, you will admire the many monuments in Baroque, Rococo and Liberty styles. Starting from the Duomo, its 2400 years of history contains a mix of different architectures perfectly blended into a single building. In a blaze of eras, among the streets, you can see churches, temples, palaces of value, and forts of the Spanish era. The Castello Maniace, from the Swabian-Norman period, the Fountain of Diana, the work of Giulio Moschetti and the Fonte Aretusa, a body of water that over the centuries has inspired the works of many writers.
